Kerrigans Construction Lawyers
We are a mixed practice of lawyers and consultants specialising in all areas of construction and engineering law and we represent a wide range of clients including national and international construction and service companies, property developers and local councils, dealing with complex and high value national and international disputes.
We specialise in both non-contentious and contentious matters including: reviewing and drafting construction contracts and related documentation; assisting in the preparation of construction and engineering claims; and acting as legal representatives in arbitration, adjudication and mediation.

Main Duties:

You will be required to provide support to other members of staff and undertake the following duties: 

  • drafting legal documents;
  • providing legal advice;
  • reviewing client documents and opposing party’s submissions;
  • developing case strategy;
  • leading and/or attending client meetings;
  • conducting negotiations;
  • instructing and liaising with expert witnesses and counsel;
  • liaising with the Tribunal and other parties’ legal representatives;
  • assisting external solicitors in litigation;
  • taking witness statement evidence;
  • preparing lectures and training material; and
  • conducting legal research. 
Minimum Academic Requirements: 
  • Qualifying law degree (2.1); and
  • LPC (commendation).
Training Opportunities:
The successful candidate will be required to enrol on the Masters degree course in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution at Leeds Beckett University.
Further academic and training opportunities will also be available, including reading for the Bar Professional Training Course, qualifying as a Solicitor (through the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) and undertaking quantity surveying examinations.
