Although not widely used the mini trial or executive tribunal often take the guise of a dispute review board comprised of senior managers or executives from each of the interested parties who may on occasion be supported by a neutral facilitator.

The object of this process is for the panel to hear argument from all of the parties and then to discuss a settlement in the absence of the parties.
