Nikki has since achieved a Distinction in the Masters Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution at Leeds Metropolitan University and, in December 2013, was awarded the Keating Chambers Prize for the top graduating student on the course. Whilst the degree has been running at Leeds Metropolitan University since 1994, this is the first time the prize has been awarded. Nikki is now an Associate Lecturer on the Masters Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution course.

Nikki completed the Bar Professional Training Course at BPP University, Leeds in July 2015 and is now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Nikki completed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' Certificate in Quantity Surveying in May 2016 and has since become a Chartered Legal Executive and a Solicitor.

Nikki has participated as party representative in adjudication, mediation and arbitration proceedings in relation to disputes concerning interpretation of contracts, payment, breach of contract and professional negligence. She has experience in all stages of adjudication from commencement to decision, and drafting position statements through to terms of settlement in mediation.

Nikki advises employers, contractors and subcontractors as to the enforceability of performance bonds and the merits and liabilities of their terms and conditions including the drafting of such contractual provisions. Nikki has a keen interest in performance bonds, having been involved in multiple disputes concerning the validity of performance bonds and subsequently completing her dissertation on whether performance bonds are performing in the construction industry (in which she obtained the highest grade ever to be achieved on the Masters Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution).

In addition to this, Nikki researches and prepares for public seminars and academic papers for publication on the internet and conducts legal research in recent case law and corporate due diligence including investigating accounts, corporate governance and securities.
